Over the past decade, we have seen a marked increase in regulatory traceability requirements designed to protect consumers. Product-level serialization for patient safety is now a regulatory requirement in many industries, including the medical device, pharmaceutical and tobacco industries. Consumer health and safety are at the heart of global priorities today. Manufacturers in all industries should prepare for future regulations to mandate product and lot-level traceability.
